Rock Oysters do look and taste different to our Native Irish specie the Edulis Oyster: Higher meat content, with variable saltiness and sweetness. Oysters flavor depends on the area, the season, and the quality of the plankton present in the sea when the Oysters are harvested.

Oysters are an expensive treat only when eaten out and ordered in a Restaurant. Enjoyed at home, they are a great everyday value product. (if you are ready to crack them open yourself). All it takes is a suitable Oyster knife, a thick kitchen cloth, and a bit of practice.
