Larimichthys polyactis, also called the redlip croaker, yellow croaker or yellow Corvina, is a species native to the western Pacific, primarily the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea.

It is a smaller fish with tender flesh, making it easier to cook on the bone. Its size thankfully makes it perfect to use a whole fish for each serving.
